being you is enough

Dear Sisam🫶,

I know you’ve spent years trying to understand yourself.

There were moments when you questioned your feelings, wondering if they were real or if they would simply disappear with time. You grew up in an environment where conversations about sexuality were rare, and sometimes it felt easier to stay silent than to ask the questions that lived in your heart.

But even in your silence, you always knew.

You knew long before you had the language to describe it. Long before you had the courage to admit it—even to yourself.

I’m proud of you for making it here.

Not because you’ve figured everything out, but because you’ve finally chosen honesty over fear. That choice isn’t easy. It takes courage to face the possibility that not everyone will understand you. It takes strength to embrace the parts of yourself you’ve spent years hiding.

Today, you’re no longer carrying that burden alone.

You don’t need permission to exist as you are. You don’t need to earn your identity, explain it, or prove it to anyone. Your experiences are yours, your feelings are yours, and your story belongs to you.

There will be people who celebrate you, people who question you, and people who may never understand. Let them.

Their understanding is not a requirement for your happiness.

Remember the younger version of yourself—the one who felt confused, who searched for answers in places that never seemed to have them. If you could sit beside that version of yourself today, you wouldn’t tell them to change.

You would simply hold their hand and say, “You’re going to be okay. One day, you’ll stop being afraid of who you are.”

And that day is today.

Life is too short to shrink yourself into someone else’s expectations. You deserve to laugh loudly, love deeply, and exist unapologetically.

This isn’t the end of your journey.

It’s the beginning of living it honestly.

So, here’s to choosing authenticity over approval.
Here’s to embracing every part of yourself.
Here’s to loving without shame.
And here’s to the beautiful life you’re building—one honest step at a time.

With love,

Your future self

P.S. Thank you for never giving up on finding yourself. It was always worth it.
